| | Details | Participants will learn how to:
Check an unconscious victim
Recognize an emergency
Minimize the effects of shock
Treat sudden illnesses, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies
Perform First Aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, bleeding, and injuries to bones, joints, and muscles, such as sprains and strains
Recognize and care for choking, breathing and cardiac emergencies in victims who are 12-years-old or older.
Prevent heart disease
Use the EMS system/9-1-1
The laminated First aid and Adult CPR skills cards and First Aid bandage kit used during class are yours to keep. This course meets OSHA and WISHA requirements.
This course is NOT appropriate for those who need a healthcare-level CPR (aka BLS, Level-C) certificate. Those students should enroll in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be certified for one year in Adult CPR and three years in First Aid. |
