Do you know a hero--someone who has saved a life, or gone above and beyond to serve their community? On March 31, 2011, the Red Cross will present awards to local heroes who saved lives, exemplified the Red Cross mission or made significant, positive differences in their communities in the areas of emergency response, preparedness and prevention. (Note: heroes come in many shapes and sizes. In the past we have honored individuals and groups, adults, children and even pets. Think creatively!)
